Hi again - how ya been? (Yes, I'm still here 🙃)

Hey there, Reader... been a while since I've written ya. Not on purpose by any means, believe me. I really do hope you're doing well.

To be honest with you, this year has been difficult for me, in many ways. Between full-time patient care out of two locations, trying to be a present parent for two school-aged kids with all their activities, and managing my chronic conditions I've found myself wholly unable to do so many of the things I aspire to do for you and anyone who trusts me to provide factual information. As an example, I've got no fewer than 3 unfinished blogs and a half-completed masterclass that I simply haven't had the bandwidth to complete.

If you've been here a while, you may recall that the word I chose for this year was sustain, and my pace has felt... well, un-sustain-able.

There are no big revelations for this one. I guess, as it turns out, you can't actually do all the things. You can't wear all the hats (at least not well), particularly with the state of things.

I'll add some of the things I've posted recently, including a link to the masterclass I put together for nervous system regulation. Completely free, no strings attached... if you're feeling like you could use a few strategies to manage the onslaught of all the things, click the button below:

One of the live attendees actually fell asleep during the masterclass, which I take as the ultimate compliment. In a world with ever increasingly disturbing headlines and news, who among us doesn't need a little down-regulation and restorative rest?

Here's links to my recent blog series on pelvic floor and hypermobility, delayed as fact checking and pouring through evidence takes time but in case you want to read them:

Here's some of my recent Instagram posts with some thoughts for you...

a woman drinking from a coffee mug with text "the full body connection" a picture of bare feet with text "how your feet impact your spine & pelvis"
text saying "want to help support scolipod? here's how you can help us keep going" text saying "if you're hypermobile your pelvic floor may be working overtime, swipe to learn why"

And here are the ScoliPod episodes that dropped since I last emailed you:

While we are taking a break, we definitely aren't done. That said, Dr. Beth and I created this podcast for you and anyone with interest and curiosity into life with (or working with) scoliosis and spinal fusion. If you've been listening to ScoliPod, we'd love it if you'd send us your questions, support the show, write a review or support the show financially. Feel free to ask any questions by replying to this email.

I've learned this year that I shouldn't promise a release date on anything I'm creating, since I've been missing my own deadlines left and right, but here are some things I've been pondering and would love to know what interests you to help focus my (incredibly and tragically limited 🥲) attention and time.

That said, I will drop a poll and I would love to know what you'd love to read next:

Because creating content and writing evidence-based blogs takes a lot of time and effort, I really love when you tell me what you're interested in so I'm directing my efforts in ways that are helpful. Thanks for being here and contributing to those efforts 🤩

I also wanted to let you know I'm so glad you're here, and that you take a few moments of your busy day to read these. I don't take for granted how full your life is and I appreciate your attention. If you're still reading, I'd love for you to reply and drop me a sentence with something that's bringing you joy right now - big or small.

Thanks for being along for the ride 🫶

Yours in carefree movement and simple joys,

Hey Reader, hope you're doing great! I don't know about you; personally I always find myself getting introspective as the holiday season comes to an end. I always get a bit weepy feeling when my family packs up our Christmas decorations, as my kids keep growing older (the nerve!) and the magic changes each year. As I contemplate how to live 2026 well, I've gotten super intentional about how to nourish and support my body and its unique needs (for me, autoimmune disease, severe scoliosis and...
